All Registered voters that live in District 5 can vote by August 20th for the non-partisan position of Orange County Commissioner for District 5. Every registered voter (including Independents and Non-Partisan voters) can vote in ALL County races. Local races have “open primaries.” You do not have to be registered with a party to vote for County Commissioners.

Three Ways to Vote

Things Happen – Plan Ahead!

1 – Request Vote-by-mail

Voters can request a Vote By Mail (VBM) ballot to vote from home and save time.

Important Note – Every vote by mail ballot expired last year and must be renewed.

The Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office must receive your request for a vote-by-mail ballot no later than 5 p.m. ten days before the election. The deadline to return Voted ballots to the Elections Office is no later than 7:00 p.m. election night for it to be counted. Any voter who has requested a vote-by-mail ballot can track the status of their ballot through the Supervisor of Elections’ website.

2 – Early Voting

Early voting begins 10 – 15 days before an election. Check early voting locations, dates, and hours of operation.

Remember, you can drop off your Vote By Mail ballot at Early Vote locations in Orange County, and at the Supervisor of Election’s Office.

Please bring acceptable forms of identification. If the picture identification does not contain a signature, you will be asked to show an additional identification with your signature.

Acceptable forms of photo identification include:

  • Florida driver license
  • Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
  • United States passport
  • Debit or credit card
  • Military identification
  • Student identification
  • Retirement center identification
  • Neighborhood association identification
  • Public assistance identification
  • State of Florida concealed weapon or firearm license
  • Employee identification card issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the federal government, state, a county, or a municipality
  • Veteran health identification card issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs

3 – Voting on Election Day – August 20th

On Election Day you are required to vote in the polling place location assigned to the precinct where you live. You are also required to bring both photo and signature identification with you.

Can I change my ballot from vote-by-mail to in-person? YES

If you have requested a vote-by-mail ballot you can change your mind and vote in-person.

If you would like to change and vote in person – bring the ballot (marked or unmarked) to the polls to turn the ballot in and vote using a regular ballot.
